What we collect, and what we don't.

What we collect

Only what you type into the quote form, which is: your name and a phone number, and — if you choose to give them — a postcode, the type of job, an email address, a description of the work, and up to four photographs of the area.

Name and phone number are the only two we ask for. Everything else is optional and the form will send without it.

There is no account to create, nothing to log in to, and no newsletter to be added to.

What we use it for

To reply to you, arrange a visit, and price the job. Nothing else. We do not sell it, share it for marketing, or pass it to anyone who is not helping us answer you.

What happens to an enquiry

It is sent to us as an email and arrives in our inbox, with any photographs attached.

The email is delivered by Resend, an email service acting on our behalf. As email services do, they keep a copy for a short period before deleting it — which is also what would let us find your enquiry if it ever went astray.

This website itself keeps none of it. All it records is that an enquiry happened and on which day, with no name, number, message or photograph attached.

How long we keep it

Your enquiry email stays in our inbox for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry, carry out any work that follows, and keep our ordinary business and accounting records. We do not keep it for any longer than that, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Cookies

Nothing is stored on your device until you say yes. When you first arrive you are asked, and until you answer, no analytics or advertising cookies are set at all. Rejecting is a real choice and the site works exactly the same either way.

If you accept, two things become possible:

• Google Analytics records how the site is used — pages looked at, device type, roughly where in the country you are — so we know which parts are worth keeping.
• Google advertising would be able to tell us which enquiries came from an advert we had paid for. We are not advertising at the moment, so nothing is using this yet — your answer covers it for when we do, rather than us asking again.

If you reject, neither is switched on and no cookie is set for either.

Either way, we keep an anonymous count of useful actions — whether the quote form was started, whether the call button was tapped. That stores nothing on your device and cannot identify you or single you out, so it needs no consent.

The one thing we store regardless is your answer to the cookie question, so you are not asked again on every page. That is the only strictly necessary item and it holds nothing but your choice.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email enquiries@thetarmacco.com or call 07858 290870 and we will sort it out.
